Parent and Guardian Child Data Notice

1. Children do not have Nestory accounts

Only adults aged 18 or over may hold Nestory login credentials. A child profile is a supervised household profile, not an independent account. The adult who creates or manages it confirms that they are a parent, guardian or otherwise authorised to provide the child's information.

2. Child-profile information Nestory may hold

• Name or nickname, date of birth or age, role, colour and optional photo.
• School name, school days and hours, transport and routine details, and household-relevant activities or activity locations.
• Chores, tasks, rewards, coins, progress, reminders, events, meal participation and family routines.
• Dietary preferences, allergies and intolerances, fitness goals, mood or status, and other household information an authorised adult chooses to add.
• Messages, memories, Capture/Add items, uploads and household activity connected with the child.
• AI-generated summaries, classifications or household suggestions that use selected child context when Smart Features are enabled.

3. Why this information is used

Child-profile information is used to organise the family dashboard, chores and rewards, meals, schedules, routines, Capture/Add, household reminders, shared displays and the Smart Features selected by the adult family administrator.

4. Sensitive information

Some child-profile information can be sensitive, especially allergies, health-related goals, mood or status, faith information, or detailed parenting context. Adults should add only what is reasonably needed for the household feature, and should avoid complete medical, therapy, formal school, child-protection, legal or government-identifier records.

5. Smart Features and child context

Nestory uses a single family-level Smart Features setting. When an adult enables Smart Features, selected information connected with child profiles may be included in text, chat and classification requests or in household context. Nestory does not currently provide a separate child-context AI switch.

Before Capture text or context is sent to external AI, Nestory applies automated pseudonymisation and redaction, including replacing known family-member names with role-like aliases and withholding internal database identifiers. This reduces exposure but does not guarantee anonymity.

Nestory does not intend to diagnose, secretly score or rank children, predict their worth, or make decisions about a child's legal rights or eligibility for essential services. AI may nevertheless make ordinary household suggestions or, where Capture auto-routing is enabled, automatically perform certain routine and reversible household actions that meet Nestory's configured rules.

6. Images and external AI

Selected images may be sent to Google Gemini when an adult uses an image or vision feature. Selected text and context may be sent to DeepSeek for approved text, chat and classification features. Provider details are set out in the Privacy Policy.

7. Location

A child profile may be connected with household routines or activity locations, and an adult may choose to store a home location for family features. Nestory is not designed for continuous child tracking or a precise child movement history. Exact location does not appear on a shared wall by default unless the adult deliberately chooses a feature that requires it.

8. Who can see child information

Parents and guardians can usually manage child profiles. Other authorised family members may see information that is shared through chores, events, meals, messages or wall displays. A wall screen can be visible to visitors. Adults should use the privacy, PIN and role settings, and avoid displaying sensitive child information unnecessarily.

9. External Capture channels and sharing

If an adult sends child-related material through an enabled email, Telegram or WhatsApp Capture channel, that communication is processed by the relevant channel provider before Nestory receives it. Externally shared food reports redact member identities, but may still reveal dietary or allergy information.

10. Our commitments

• No sale of child-profile information.
• No child advertising profiles, and no third-party advertising tracking through Nestory.
• No covert operator browsing; elevated operator access is controlled and audited.
• No use of Nestory as a substitute for adult supervision, medical care, child protection or professional advice.
• Reasonable privacy-by-design controls for shared displays, AI processing, exports and deletion.

11. Choices, correction and deletion

Authorised adults can edit child information, remove photos and content, disable Smart Features for the family, disconnect integrations, turn Capture auto-routing off where available, and delete a child profile. Deletion is designed to cover child-specific direct and reasonably identifiable derived records, subject to shared family records, legal and security retention, and backups.

A capable young person may contact support@nestory.homes or ask a trusted adult to do so. Nestory will consider the child's capacity, safety and best interests, the authority of the adults involved, and whether the information belongs jointly to other household members.

12. Adult responsibilities

• Explain Nestory to children in age-appropriate language and consider their views.
• Add only authorised and reasonably necessary information.
• Review wall-display and family-role visibility.
• Correct or remove information that is inaccurate, excessive or no longer needed.
