Frequently asked questions
What do I need to run Nestory on the wall?
Any tablet that can open a browser, and somewhere to put it. Most families use an inexpensive Android tablet on a wall mount or a kitchen stand, plugged into power. There’s an Android app too, and the same household opens on a phone or laptop at app.nestory.homes.
Do I have to buy a device from you?
No - Nestory is software. We don’t sell hardware, and we’d rather you re-used the tablet in the drawer than bought a new one.
Which calendars does it sync with?
Google Calendar, which brings Google Tasks with it, plus Yahoo Calendar and any CalDAV server. Connect each person’s account once and their events appear on the family week, colour-coded by person. Events you create on the wall sync back.
Does it need an internet connection?
Yes for updates - that’s how everyone’s changes reach the wall. If the connection drops, the wall stays readable and simply says so rather than going blank, and refuses new entries until it’s back.
What does it cost, and is there a trial?
$7.99 a month for the whole household after a 90-day free trial. Google Play requires a valid payment method up front, but nothing is charged during the trial. One plan, no tiers, no per-person pricing.
What about the kids’ data?
A parent sets up child profiles and controls household access, including PIN settings where configured. Nestory does not sell child-profile information or build child advertising profiles. What we collect about children, why, and how removal works is set out in the Child Data Notice. Adults can request export or schedule deletion from settings.
Is the AI making decisions about my family?
Nestory does not make significant decisions about your family. Smart Features can suggest a meal, draft a weekly plan or offer a next step; parents stay in control. Where Capture auto-routing is enabled, Nestory may file routine, reversible household items under configured rules. You can turn Smart Features off and still use every board.
